Matt's Review:

As a coaching staff we would like to see Jassem continue to build into more of an all-court player that is dictating the point more rather than falling into a counter-puncher when competition gets tougher. He has been doing a very good job of working his transition game during his practice and ladder matches, and getting out of his comfort zone of staying back behind the baseline and trying to counter tougher opponents.  We like the work that he has put in so far this school year and we look forward to his continued growth!
Technical Comments: This video was shot a couple of weeks ago, and the coaching staff has seen major improvements to Jassem's technique. He is loading much better with an open stance the majority of the time on his forehand and is transferring more weight into the shots consistently. We would still like to see him continue to work on shortening up the take back on the forehand and keeping everything more to the right side of his body.
We would like to see him continue to work on getting into the ball more on his backhand side stepping into the shot more rather than across his body, and incorporating more open stances, especially on defensive shots.
With Jassem's serve, he has improved his legs and is getting into the court better with his left foot. We still think that he can get more legs out of his serve and we would like him to continue to focus on this area of his game.
Tactically: He is working better with his forehand, but he is staying a little too far back with his groundstrokes and has gained comfort begin able to attack and getting inside of the baseline. His backhand needs to continue to develop in areas of directional control and being able to attack as he tends to just counter with his backhand rather than dictate. His serve has become more of a weapon for him which is a very positive improvement!
